Kings Deal Shamray on Trade Deadline Day

With today being the trade deadline across the CJHL, the Dauphin Kings made a trade, as Riley Shamray has been moved to the OCN Blizzard.

Shamray, who was the hero last night against the Stampeders, was one of the Kings main sources of offence this season, putting up 29 points in 41 games for the team.

"We all know how good Shamray is, defensively and offensively," said Mitch Giguere, Interim GM and Head Coach of the Kings. "All the young players are sad to see him go, but at the same time, it's an opportunity for some players to rise to the challenge, and show what they can do."

Coming back the Kings way is Dustin Mozdzen. The Alonsa native has 12 points in 31 games for the Blizzard this season, and will now get the chance to play back in the Parkland, after spending four seasons between the Parkland Bantam Rangers, and Midget Rangers.

"He's a hard worker, and is a two-way forward," said Giguere. "We know he's going to compete every day, and he plays big. He didn't have that many points with OCN, but he's got the skill so we'll see if he can score more here."

Also coming the Kings way is Taron Topham.

Topham is currently playing for the Parkland Midget Rangers and has nine points in 28 games for a Rangers team who are battling for a playoff spot.
