It's the second game in as many days for the Dauphin Kings as they're set for a rematch with the Swan Valley Stampeders tonight at the Centennial Arena in Swan River.
The two teams met last night, and the Stamps skated away with a 6-2 win behind a solid effort for the majority of the game, which included racking up 43 shots.
"Last night was a tough one," said Mitch Giguere, Interim Head Coach and GM of the Kings. "The players weren't ready to play and obviously the result wasn't there."
Tonight's game will be the final game of 2017 for the Kings and it's a chance to end off December on a high note and with a 5-5 record.
"If the players want to still be playing in March, they need to make the difference tonight," said Giguere. "We've proved that we can play at a very high level in the past, and we have to make sure we make it happen tonight."
One thing that held the Kings back yesterday was the Stamps winning lots of battles off the walls.
"We need to win battles," said Giguere. "Our d-zone was poor, and we were chasing them way too often. We need to be ready at all times."
The Kings also missed a few open nets throughout the game, which could have changed the outlook of the game.
